I’ve always avoided it but I’m going to get a bit personal.
It makes sense right? If you want to know if I can help your business
you really should know a little about me, my background, where I
draw inspiration and exactly why I do what I do. So here’s an update.
I’m working on so much right now and really energized by the work.
I’d love to be over here much more blogging to share all of the
tidbits that pop into my head as I work with so many small and
emerging Pittsburgh businesses.
Lately I’ve been able to solidify some really wonderful relationships
for my handmade marketplace, I Made It! Market and can’t wait to
really get the summer season rolling. We’re scheduled for
WYEP Summer Music Festival
Whole Foods Wexford one Sunday a month
Squirrel Hill Night Market
Three Rivers Regatta
SouthSide Works Exposed
These are ALL super events where local artisans get to meet Pittsburghers
new and returning as well as visitors to the ‘Burgh.
From the Flea world, we had an incredible Mother’s Day Flea on May 10th and
are finishing up all of the details for our next event on Sunday, June 14th.
The Flea is only just now hitting one year old and so fun, filled with food, new sellers,
now LIVE art, POP UP fitness, music, and workshops. It’s been energizing to
flex my creative skills and spend that energy growing the Flea! And I’m not
alone – I have help from a wonderful team of friends and interns who support
I’m also working as a business consultant to Staghorn Home & Garden Cafe in
Pittsburgh’s Greenfield neighborhood. Staghorn is a combination home and
garden shop, a boutique filled with regionally sourced, curated, handmade goods
and a coffee shop/cafe. I’ve been working from Staghorn over the last six months
and feel like a part of that community now as well. And Kate & Mark, the owners,
happen to be superstar clients!
My husband has taken the LEAP to the entrepreneurial world as the owner of
the new tabletop gaming store, Drawbridge Games in Castle Shannon. It’s almost
fate that a fantasy game store would happen to be located in “Castle” Shannon.
We’re moving everything in and will be open weekends until mid-June when
Rico’s teaching career ends and his new life begins!
The Community surrounding this creative marketplace world is inspiring
every single day. I’m spending a lot of time on Instagram and Twitter
as Facebook limits how many people I can invite to events and touch through
posts. I hope you can join me on Instagram at @imadeitmarket @neighborhoodflea @carriedoes
Now that all of that is out keep an eye over on this blog and Instagram where I’ll be
adding new bits of info to help you out as you grow your business!
